Camera crews were up on Heysham Barrows on Monday and in Morecambe town centre on Tuesday as filming continued for the third series of The Bay.

Janet Packham and Mags Carr both snapped cast and crew on location in Heysham as well as out in the bay itself for some of their scenes.

They were previously filming in Heysham village last month, and today they are in central Morecambe - where part of the prom has been closed to traffic for the TV work to take place.

As we reported in February, The Bay series 3 will see Cobra star Marsha Thomason in the lead role, joining the regular cast as Morecambe CID’s new Family Liaison Officer, DS Jenn Townsend, following Morven Christie’s decision to leave the show.

DS Townsend is immediately thrown into the deep end when a body is found in the bay on her first day in the job.

She must get under the skin of a grieving and complicated family if she has any chance of solving the premature death of an aspiring young boxer.

The hugely successful drama is written by Lancaster-based award-winning writer and playwright Daragh Carville, with Furquan Akhtar co-writing series 3, and produced by Tall Story Pictures.
