Gascoigne is due to appear in court the day before his one-man show at the Grand next Friday, October 30.

But a spokesman for the Lancaster theatre said Gazza’s management were “very confident” the show would go on.

Football fans will pay up to £250 to meet Gascoigne at the special event and there were only a handful of tickets left as we went to press.

Minimum ticket price for the evening, which will include Gascoigne talking about his career, a Q&A and live entertainment, will be £40.

There are also premium packages available for £100, which includes a photograph with the football star, and £250 for a photograph and a signed England World Cup 1990 shirt.

The Lancaster date is one of only a handful Gascoigne will be doing on a UK tour of venues.

It will mark 25 years since ‘Gazza’ became a national treasure when his skilful displays from midfield drove England to the World Cup semi-finals in Italy, before they lost on penalties to West Germany in Turin - a game famed for Gazza bursting into tears when he received a yellow card and realised he would be suspended for the final had England got there.

The former Tottenham, Newcastle and Lazio player was also instrumental in England’s charge to the semi-finals of Euro 1996.

The event starts at 7pm. £40 tickets available by calling 01524 64695 or from.lancastergrand.co.uk .

*Gascoigne, 48, will appear at Bournemouth Magistrates’ Court on October 29 charged with harassing his ex-girlfriend Amanda Thomas with tweets, text messages and telephone calls over a fortnight in March.

He is also charged with harassing Andy Stone, reportedly a photographer, during the same period.
