AN inspirational nurse is celebrating after beating hundreds of entrants to scoop two national prizes for her work in helping improve the health of teenagers.
Liz Howard-Thornton of NHS North Lancashire joined the celebrations at the 2011 Nursing Times Awards at London’s Hilton Hotel which showcased the amazing work that nurses carry out on a daily basis.
She was part of a team who worked with students from Morecambe Community High School to produce a health promotion leaflet tackling the subject of pelvic floor weakness and preventing incontinence for women in adult life.
The leaflet was designed and developed by teenagers for teenagers.
