Harry’s Bar is owned by Sean and Ann O’Hagan, and is named after Sean’s grandad Harry, who came over to Morecambe from Ireland 100 years ago.

He ran a seafish business, which was later taken over by Sean’s dadJimmy.

The bar opened last week in the former Masala restaurant building on the prom, and is already proving popular in the resort.

It comes on the back of Sean’s other successful ventures in Morecambe, the Crown and the Royal, as well as Eric’s ice-cream shop.

Ann said: “Sean has a passion for Morecambe and has previously done up several other properties.

“With this one we wanted to make it into a nice little cosy bar.

“It’s quite small and intimate and very different from what we already have.”

The bar has an outside seating area, and will also be serving traditional pub food.

“It will mainly be quick and easy basket food,” Ann said. “We wanted it to offer something different from the Crown and the Royal, which are more formal and have a wider variety. Harry’s Bar is ideal for people who want a casual drink and a quick and easy meal.”

The longstanding ice-cream shop alongside Harry’s Bar has also been renovated as part of the project.
