Morecambe Town Council to have less meetings

MORECAMBE Town Council will soon be meeting every two months after councillors agreed to streamline proceedings.

This would create six meetings a year, as opposed to 11.

More time would be available between meetings for extra work on town council projects for young people such as Urban Child and Youth Forum.

Reducing the number of meetings means that management of the town council can be planned ahead of time.

It also means that decisions can be made at meetings with more information available due to the time in between meetings.
