Morecambe parents charged over death of seven-month old son

Detectives investigating the death of little Oskar Kennedy-Jobey have charged Kane Kennedy, 19, with murder, and his mother Tia Jobey, 18, both of Balmoral Road, Morecambe, with causing or allowing the death of a child.

On the morning of October 1 2015, paramedics attended the couple’s address after a report that Oskar had been found unresponsive.

He was taken to the Royal Lancaster Infirmary but was sadly pronounced dead shortly afterwards.

On Tuesday, February 23 Kane Kennedy and Tia Jobey were arrested in connection with the death and following consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service have now been charged.

Both were due to appear at Lancaster Magistrates Court today, Wednesday, February 24.
