These Mitchell and Kenyon pictures of Morecambe show men, women and children along the promenade and the Stone Jetty. Onlookers are encouraged to wave while excited boys try and catch the camera, running towards the centre of the shot. A Morecambe Winter Gardens poster is pictured.

One gentleman, pictured on a horse cart, appears to be smoking a large pipe. Another woman is pictured blowing a kiss to the camera.

The Mitchell and Kenyon pictures are dated from 1901.

Thanks to the BFI for making these pictures publicly available. The archives can be viewed at www.bfi.org.uk.
