They have also booked a retro night for the Morecambe nightclub with headliners Paul Taylor and K Klass on August 13.

The Carleton closed in 2014 but now will be opening for one-off events from time to time.

A rave night at the West End club in January, organised by a different promotional team, drew 1,300 to the Carleton.

This was billed as ‘The Final Farewell’ but owner Ian Bond has decided to continue to hire out the club for events.

“The Carleton has been fully cleaned, decorated and lightly refurbished and the Carleton sign has been given pride of place in the central dancefloor area,” said Mr Bond.

“We’ve kept the same look and feel so as not to change the appearance but we are open for business. “We are looking to put a variety of events on with one large event per month and a number of smaller events such as weddings.

“Raechel and Gary have worked incredibly hard to plan a range of events up to Christmas and the future looks really exciting.

“The Carleton won’t be opening as a nightclub each week, but as an event space there seems to be a massive demand and interest.

“I’m hoping rather than competing with local entertainment venues it will enhance the area and benefit local hotels and pubs with increased business.”

Property developer Mr Bond, who working on converting the former Battery pub into flats, aims to do the same to the Carleton long-term.
