Lose weight or die.
These were the words that finally pushed Wayne Bolton to drop four stone, three pounds in just over a year.
Losing weight is something the 33-year-old has struggled with for most of his life.
At 15-years-old Wayne was diagnosed with type one diabetes, where the pancreas doesn’t produce any insulin making it easier for Wayne to put on the extra weight. It wasn’t until Wayne saw a picture of himself taken on Christmas Day 2013 that he decided enough was enough.
Wayne, who lives on Green Street, Morecambe, said: “I never looked at a picture of myself before and I thought I have got to do something.
“I never realised I had got so big

At 18 stone, 10lbs, Wayne joined Slimming World with his mum in Bare, Morecambe, in January last year.
Wayne didn’t join the group straight away as he was convinced the diet plans would not work.
A year later Wayne is now running the group as the lead consultant.
He said: “It took me a while to get through the door that first night, I didn’t join.
“I thought about it through the week and looked at myself in the mirror and thought no I need to go.
“I went and I have never looked back.”
Although Wayne had a lot of support from the group and from his wife Joanne he admits it wasn’t exactly a walk in the park.
“It was hard some weeks, one time I put about six pounds on in one week.
“I didn’t stay at one point, I just left but you have got to make yourself get back.
“I have always had a weight problem, I graze, but before I would be eating a lot of bad food but now I eat more fruit and vegetables. I can still have the fattening food but I have to ‘sin’ them.
“I t is more about the control.”
Wayne has gone from a size 42 waist to 36-38 waist and a size extra, extra large to a size large.
The Slimming World improved eating plan for diabetics has allowed Wayne to achieve his target weight of 14 stone, 9lbs.
Wayne said: “I feel a lot more energetic.
“I do a lot of things which I couldn’t do before, like walking, I used to have naps in the afternoon.
“My wife Joanne, she is very supportive, she is naturally thin she can eat what she wants!
“It has changed my life and I would love to help others change theirs.”
The Slimming World Bare group meets at Bare Village Hall on Monday evenings from 5pm-7pm.
