Morecambe ex-club rep debates drunk Brits abroad

When ITV programme This Morning needed an experienced holiday rep to talk about Brits in Magaluf, Morecambe man Lee Watson fitted the bill.

The influx of drunken British tourists in Spanish resorts is a story that has hit the headlines time and time again, and now a pilot scheme is being launched to help control it.

Lee, a former Club 18-30 holiday rep, has already appeared on the famous sofa to talk about Brits behaving badly abroad but was on the couch again on Monday to discuss sending two British police officers to Magaluf and Ibiza to help deter anti-social behaviour.

The DJ believes the pilot scheme will do little to help reduce drunken behaviour.

He said: “Us Brits work hard all year and save up to go abroad and generally it is their first holiday away from their parents, they go away and they just want to have a good time.

“If they stop Brits drinking then they will stop going and then businesses will not survive.”

Lee added: “This is my third time on This Morning. It is good to keep highlighting the issue but I think you need more than two police officers.”
