The Platform venue in Morecambe is getting a makeover.
Internal and external refurbishment work will be carried out at the former railway station as part of Lancaster City Council’s ongoing repairs and maintenance programme.
The work costs around £180,000 and will include:
*Repairs to roof leadwork with new simulated lead coverings
*A new CCTV security camera
*Re-bedding of uneven stone flags outside main front entrance lobby
*Repairs of the two promotional noticeboards in front grassed areas
*Redecoration of metal and woodwork to front and rear canopies
*Replacements of life expired light fittings and electrics below front and rear canopies
*Replacements of vinyl flooring to various internal areas
*Refurbishishment of the bar area store room
*Internal decorations where required in selected rooms/areas
*Minor miscellaneous repair items.
Contractors Keepmoat Ltd will carry out the work. No start date has yet been confirmed.
The Platform is owned by Lancaster City Council and marks its 20th anniversary as an arts and entertainment venue in 2017.
