It’s that time of year again when we put the smile back on the face of’s time for The Visitor’s fifth annual Morecambe Day.

Held every year on the nearest Saturday to the birthday of the town’s favourite son Eric Morecambe, Morecambe Day is the day when The Visitor celebrates all that is wonderful about our town.

More Music (our Morecambe Day charity), Steve Middlesbrough’s Kalimba Events and the Arndale Centre have pulled together to create a lively and colourful programme of fun and music to create a party atmosphere in the Arndale.

Acts will perform in the centre itself and the empty Superdrug unit on Saturday, May 11.

Confirmed so far for Morecambe Day are: The Baybeat Carnival Band; Fourth Time Lucky; Frenchie; Imogen Mechie; Molly Wilson; Katie Clarke and Brendan Cleary.

Plus there will be beat boxing and drumming workshops, singing for the under fives and a chance for kids to be part of the Baybeat Carnival Band’s ‘Eric Parade’ at 3pm from the Arndale to the Eric statue.

Morecambe Day will run from 11am to 4pm and all are welcome.
