Morecambe Day is back

IT’S coming back to bring you sunshine for the third glorious’s Morecambe Day!

And we are proud to announce that Morecambe Day 2011 is going to be bigger and better than ever.

Once again The Visitor will be celebrating our beautiful resort and its people on the weekend nearest to the birthday of our town’s favourite son, Eric Morecambe.

On Friday, May 13 we will once again host the Sunshine Awards and Sunshine Ball at the flagship Midland Hotel, which proved so successful last year.

Then on Saturday, May 14 Morecambe Day will again be centred around two of the flagship icons of the town – the Eric Morecambe Statue and the Arndale Centre.

The motto of Morecambe Day has always been that there is a lot to shout about in Morecambe.

Amid all the doom and gloom of recession, service cuts and closing attractions, we believe there is still nowhere quite like our resort.

During tough times, there is no better time for everyone in Morecambe to pull together, celebrate the positives about our town and show Pride in Morecambe.

See The Visitor (23-03-11) for full story.
