One Morecambe resident said The Queens Hotel, located on the corner of Queen Street and Marine Road, looked “terrible” and “derelict” in what is currently the height of Morecambe’s holiday season.

The pub was re-launched as a late night venue in October 2014 by licensee Mike Zorab.

The Park Hotel, in Regent Road, has also gone up for sale with an asking price of £750,000.

Leisure property specialists Fleurets said the closed pub would lend itself to a re-development for residential or offices.

Last week, Punch Taverns put Morecambe’s oldest pub - The Smugglers Den - on the market, to the shock and surprise of locals and the existing landlord.

Sheila Smith, from Rosebery Avenue, said of the Queens Hotel: “What a terrible sight to see something that looks like a derelict building in the centre of Morecambe Prom at the height of our season. You would have thought they could have put some sort of backing scenes on the boards to make it look like, at a distance at least, a nice building.”
