Music continues at the Platform in 2015 with a new year concert, tributes to rock greats and some raucous folk.
On January 25, Promenade Concert Orchestra presents: A New Year Viennese Concert.
The show celebrates the New Year with music by the Strauss family and associated composers of the time as well as a few surprises to ‘pop open’ the champagne bottle! The music starts from 3pm onwards.
Limehouse Lizzy continue to keep the spirit of Celtic rock icon Philip Lynott and his band Thin Lizzy alive, well and dominating stages worldwide.
The band have also added a tribute into their show to ex-Thin Lizzy guitarist (and world renowned solo artist) Gary Moore.
The show takes place on January 31 from 8pm. Fans of The Eagles will enjoy Talon: The Acoustic Collection on February 5. Talon return to the Platform with their new tour which shows a different side to these amazing performers.
The show sees them sitting on bar stools and armed with no more than their trademark four part harmony, acoustic instruments and laid back banter.
On Febraury 13, the Houghton Weavers will entertain their audiences with humorous jokes and anecdotes and sing popular folk songs from raucous traditional songs to beautiful ballads done in their own inimitable style. From 8pm.
