Missing Morecambe girls safely home

TWO 15-year-old girls who went missing from Morecambe were found safe and well a day later in Glasgow.

Police in Lancaster were made aware of the girls’ disappearance on Thursday, November 24, and enquiries soon led to the Glasgow area.

The girls’ families put posters up in local chip shops. The posters said the pair had been abducted but police could not confirm this.

Officers travelled to Scotland and at 6.30pm on Friday, November 25, Lancashire detectives, supported by Strathclyde Police, entered an address in Glasgow where they found both girls safe and well. An 18-year-old man was arrested at the scene and escorted back to Lancaster where he was interviewed.

He was later released with no further action.
