During the evening of May 1-2, the memorial was floodlit in green to celebrate St John’s Hospice’s 50th birthday.

The monument will be illuminated for four nights in yellow to raise awareness of cystic fibrosis (May 9-11) followed by an evening’s display of purple, blue and green for Fibromyalgia Awareness Day on May 12.

The colour yellow will be theme again from May 15-21 in support of Dementia Awareness Week with a flash of silver on May 18 during Silver Week in recognition of The Silver Line, a free helpline providing information, friendship and advice to older people.

To complete the schedule, the memorial will return to the colour purple from May 23-27 to show support for the Stroke Society.
