Man punched in Lancaster taxi rank queue

A man had his cheekbone fractured after being punched in an unprovoked attack.

Police said the victim was waiting for a taxi on Cable Street in Lancaster when two men tried to jump the queue.

The man was assaulted by one of the two men which resulted in him being punched to the floor.

A witness then helped the victim up whilst the attackers ran away.

Police said: “This was an unprovoked and cowardly attack on someone out enjoying themselves leading up to Christmas.”

The attacker was white, 6ft tall and possibly with blonde hair.

The incident occurred on December 20 at 1.30am.
