Man and teen assault probe

A man found in the street on Christmas Eve with severe facial injuries was the victim of an assault, police said.

The 31-year-old man was found in the Cumberland View Road/Heysham Road area of Morecambe at 12.45am.

He had been assaulted and required hospital treatment for severe facial injuries.

Two days earlier a teenager was assaulted by four men in Heysham.

The attack on the 17-year-old took place between 10.30pm and 11pm on Monday, December 22, on Middleton Road near to Lea Lane, Heysham.

Two of the men are described as white, in their 20s, wearing dark hooded tops and clothing.

DC Jill Neil said: “This is a despicable attack on a young man simply making his way home.”

Anyone with information about either crime should contact police on 101 quoting log reference LC-20141224-0024 for the Christmas Eve assault or Log 269 of December 23 for the assault on the young teenager.
