A LANCASTER man has been cleared of raping and sexually assaulting a woman on a city street.

James Watters, 31, of Slaidburn Drive, Lancaster, was alleged to have attacked the 24-year-old on Lucy Street, Lancaster, in the early hours of Saturday, January 8, 2012.

But he was yesterday found not guilty after a four-day Preston Crown Court trial.
