Over the past two years thousands of people have made pledges to change things.

This year, the NHS is asking people to tell about changes they have made.

Anyone can get involved, whether they work in or alongside the NHS or are a patient or member of the public, by visiting the NHS Change website: http://changeday.nhs.uk/

Together, small actions will make a big difference in improving the care and wellbeing of those who use the NHS.

Last year University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust encouraged staff to make pledges on pledge walls across their three main hospital sites at Furness General Hospital, Royal Lancaster Infirmary and Westmorland

General Hospital – which resulted in almost 1,000 pledges being made.

Jackie Daniel, University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust Chief Executive said: “NHS Change Day is a day for all staff working for the NHS to pledge to make a real difference.

“It is more than just a pledge for one day. It is about ensuring that we adopt the highest standards of care and quality across our organisation for the benefit of patients.

“This year, staff at the Trust have the opportunity to post their changes on our staff intranet about the actions they have made.

“These will then be shared with the national NHS Change Day team.

“All our staff can make a difference at whatever level in the organisation they work.

“I want us to provide high quality and safe care for the public in our area.”
