BRITISH wrestling is alive and well and returns to Morecambe on Saturday, October 8.

Wrestling has a great history in the resort where the grapple game has entertained packed houses in town everywhere from the Winter Gardens to the Central Pier over an 80-year period.

Nowadays The Carleton is the home of this very British tradition, where modern day gladiators like Johnny Phere, Sam Slam and “The Ascension” Alex Shane have replaced yesteryear’s giants like Big Daddy, Giant Haystacks and Kendo Nagasaki.

XWA Last Fight at The Prom at The Carleton promises an action-packed five bout card including a super sized six-man tag team main event, a high-flying tag bout and appearances from XWA favourites including masked Mexican sensation El Ligero, “Heavyweight House of Pain” Stixx, the outrageous “RockStar” Spud, the massive Colossus, handsome newcomer Max Angelus and the obnoxious “Showstealer” Nathan Cruz.
