Major health care vision due later today
The Better Care Together review will slam the state of the local NHS and claim “precious lives are being lost” due to medical failings.
It will also set out plans to radically transform our health system, while confirming there are no proposals to close the Royal Lancaster Infirmary or its Accident and Emergency unit.

Hide AdThe report also aims to reduce hospital admissions by more than 9,000 over five years by putting more treatment in the hands of GPs.
The blueprint, put together with the help of hospital doctors, GPs, nurses and social care staff, aims to drive up service standards, reduce costs and lengths of unnecessary hospital stays, and improve waiting times.
