Commuters travelling on the M6 southbound faced long delays this morning as a lorry shed its load blocking three lanes of traffic.
An eyewitness reported seeing three beams of concrete falling off the lorry onto the carriageway near junction 34 at Lancaster.
Police attended at 6.50am on Tuesday and reported long tailbacks, with travellers facing significant delays during rush hour as they battled to get to work.
The hold-up was expected to be cleared by 9.30am.
North West Ambulance have reported no casualties at the scene.
