Six-year-old Oliver Ferguson took part in Lancaster University’s Defying Dementia walk.
Devoted Oliver wanted to take part in the two mile challenge for his grandma who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s at the age of 63.
He raised £400 for Defying Dementia, a university project which looks at progressing drugs into clinical use against dementia.
Mum Emily Wilson, who works for the NHS, has spoke of her pride and said the push for dementia awareness is becoming very prevalent.
She said: “I feel it is really important for all people to become a dementia friend and have an awareness of this at a young age.
“My son is very keen on raising funds and his school, St Wilfrid’s in Halton Village, are supporting him all the way.”
