Drivers who use Caton Road between the sliproads of junction 34 of the M6 are being advised of an important phase of Lancashire County Council’s £124.5m Heysham Link project.

Between 8pm on Friday November 13 and Monday November 16 at 6am, a section of Caton Road (A683) will need to close from the northbound sliproads to the southbound sliproads of junction 34.

Diversion signs will be erected, and it is important drivers familiarise themselves with alternative routes and plan their journeys ahead.

Motorway traffic will be diverted to the next junction depending on the direction drivers wish to travel on the M6.

For example, southbound traffic from Lancaster will need to go north to junction 35 and then turn around; likewise northbound traffic from Caton will also need to head in the opposite direction initially before re-joining the M6 at junction 33.
