Lancaster man found dead in Fleetwood
A 57-year-old man from Lancaster has been found dead in Fleetwood in an apparent suicide.
The body of a man, who has not yet been named, was found hanging from railings in Dock Road just before 2.30am following a search by police, fire brigade and coastguard.
Police were first alerted to the missing man on Sunday evening, and a search began at Glasson Dock just after 7pm, amid fears the man had jumped into the water.
This search was stood down, but later in the evening the focus moved to Fleetwood, where the man’s body was eventually found on railings near the estuary.
The man’s family has been informed.
