Lancaster local election results due

As the fever surrounding the 2015 general election begins to dampen down, thoughts are now turning to the local elections, where 60 seats on Lancaster City Council are up for grabs.

The counts for the Lancaster City Council, Morecambe Town Council and various Parish Councils across the district are due to take place at Salt Ayre Sports Centre on Saturday morning, May 9.

Results are expected around lunchtime.

The results will decide the make-up of the city council, which is currently run as a Labour-Green coalition, with councillors representing 27 wards across the Lancaster district.
