A Lancaster gym will create the ultimate boys versus girls team challenge in aid of Sport Relief.
3-1-5 Health Club is hoping to raise £3,150 and will create teams made up of both staff, club members and local businesses for the challenge.
The teams will have to run, walk or swim their way through 210 miles; the equivalent of the Coast to Coast Walking Challenge between Monday March 14 and Saturday March 20 and donations can be made at the club on Caton Road.
To add a further twist, the two co-owners of 3-1-5 Health Club, Ceri Smith and Sean Thornton, will be having their own head-to-head competition with each having to complete the 210 miles in differing environments throughout the week.
Sean will physically complete the Coast to Coast Walk, camping over night and enjoying all elements of weather. Ceri will be completing the miles in the comfort and warmth of 3-1-5 gym with support of the members completing the challenge with her.
Ceri said: “Everyone here at the club, both members and the team, are really looking forward to the upcoming challenge ahead.
“I’m especially looking forward to going head-to-head against my business counterpart Sean, having spent most of the last couple of years ensuring the club is delivering the world class service we strive for, it’ll be great to combine that with spending some more time doing a fun activity with our members – as well as beating Sean in the challenge!”
The grand finale of the challenge on Sunday March 20 will cap off a great week with a junior swim challenge between midday and 4pm to bring the challenge to a close.
Swimmers will be requested to swim 25m in the main pool, jump out and stick a red nose to the window. Non-members wanting to participate in the challenge can do so by making a small minimum donation of £5 towards Sport Relief to take part.
