The curry night at popular Indian restaurant Babar Elephant in Lancaster raised a total of £3,577.25 to be split between the children’s ward at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI) and local Macmillan Nurses.

Everyone who attended the event were treated to a three course Indian banquet, followed by charity auction and raffle. The raffle featured prizes donated by local businesses.

Julie and Andrew Seaton organised the event in support of the children’s ward at the RLI because of the support given to the couple’s son in managing his diabetes.

“Donations like this allow the team at the children’s ward buy extra items for young patients whilst in their care,” said Judith Read, charity coordinator at Morecambe Bay Hospitals Charity. “These could be medical equipment, comforts, televisions, toys, distraction therapy and enhancements to the ward environment, so there is no doubt that Julie and Andrew’s donation will make a real difference.”

Morecambe Bay Hospitals Charity is a registered charity that raises funds and supports the University Hospital of Morecambe Bay Trust’s five hospital sites.
