Two Lancaster city councillors have joined forces across the political divide to help disabled people.
Labour councillor Claire Cozler and Conservative Melanie Guilding are the council’s new co-Champions for the Disabled.
Coun Cozler and Coun Guilding both volunteered for the newly-created role and after a vote of all councillors, it was decided they should share it.
Both Coun Cozler and Coun Guilding were elected to the council in May.
A ‘champion’ is appointed by the council to focus on a specific area or where a community group needs to ensure it is given due regard in relation to the activities of the council and its partners.
