Mourners at Skerton cemetery are being faced with bins overflowing with dead flowers when they pay their respects.
Lydia Cocker, whose mother is buried at the cemetery, said: “At the end of the day I come to visit my mothers grave and myself and other people do not wish to view over flowing bins each time it’s shocking and a disgrace.
“It’s upsetting for those visiting their loved ones to see flowers from weeks ago on the floor.
“The city council need need to review when the bins are collected as quite clearly it’s not frequent enough.
“I have been there on numerous occasions and people are taking their dead flowers home which is not satisfactory at all.”
A spokesman for Lancaster City Council said: “We would like to thank Ms Cocker for bringing this to our attention and as a result we will increase the frequency that these bins are collected.
“We have informed her of this and this has resolved her complaint.”
