AZALEAS are wonderful plants to have in the house at this time of year as long as you water and feed them with phostrogen because of its high potash content along with trace elements.
You can keep azaleas for many years if you do the right thing at the right time.
It can be argued that this applies to all gardening – maybe, but when you are talking about outdoor gardening it would be easier if this was the case. Outdoor gardening is totally different to indoor gardening. We would like to do the jobs at the right time, but weather conditions dictate timing.
As an example, as I am writing this column it is pouring down and there appears no chance of outside work for at least a couple of weeks. Obviously, indoors we don’t have that problem.
