Knife man tasered in Morecambe

Officers were called to a house on Westminster Road on Friday night after someone contacted police with concerns for a man’s safety.

A 34-year-old man was at the address holding a knife to his throat.

The decision was taken to taser him to prevent him harming himself or someone else.

The knife was recovered and the man was taken to hospital for treatment.

A taser is a weapon which fires barbs attached by wires to batteries, causing temporary paralysis.
