Kerry Oldfield, manager at Marsden Building Society’s Morecambe agency, has recently taken part in fundraising for the spinal cord charity Aspire.
At the beginning of July, Kerry took part in a relay channel swim alongside her team of six called Starfish.
Kerry began the swim at 11pm and each member of the team took part in the relay until completion in the early afternoon of the next day.
Now, Kerry is looking to continue her fundraising by taking part in even more challenges.
Her next event, the Half Iron Man is on the August 31, which involves a 1.9 mile swim, a 56 mile bike ride and a 13 mile run.
However, Kerry is not stopping there, going on to swim the length of Lake Windermere and back which is a total of 21 miles only a week later!
Kerry’s chosen charity Aspire, offers practical support to the 40,000 people living with a spinal cord injury in the UK so that they can lead fulfilled and independent lives in their homes, with their families, in work places and in leisure time.
So far Kerry has managed to raise an incredible £2,000 and this will hopefully continue to grow through fundraising in the Morecambe agency.
Kerry said: “I have always been a swimmer and I like the challenge that all of the events present. It is difficult but it is a great opportunity to raise money for Aspire which is a very worthwhile cause.”
Rob Pheasey, chief executive of the Marsden, said: “It is great to see the work that Kerry is doing for Aspire and the challenges she is overcoming to support people that need her help.
“The Marsden is in full support of her fundraising efforts and would like to wish her all the best in her upcoming events.”
If you would like to support Kerry in her fundraising please go into the Marsden Building Society Morecambe agency at 45 Euston Road and give your donations.
