Innovative Lancashire projects shortlisted for property Oscars

The annual awards have become affectionately known as the region’s property Oscars.

This year 40 property projects of all sizes and budgets – from all over the North West – are in with a chance of gaining industry recognition, along with the teams behind them.

In contention in varous categories are Lancaster University, a Blackpool housing project and a Lytham’s firm’s new offices.

The first phase of Foxhall Village in Blackpool has been shortlisted for the Regeneration accolade following the delivery of 218 contemporary, eco-friendly homes, with 70 available for affordable rent.

The £50m project will see 410 new houses and apartments built.

Other Lancashire based property schemes in the running for awards include Jubilee House, a new landmark building in Lytham, which is also up for the Regeneration accolade as well as the Commercial award.

Previously known as Birkenhead House, the derelict former home to the Land Registry on Lytham seafront had fallen in to disrepair. Now it is home to Danbro accountants.

Lancaster University’s new £8.4m Engineering Building is up for the Design through Innovation award. The property’s highly sustainable, stunning architecture – complete with adjacent public realm – boasts state-of-the-art offices, workshops and high-tech laboratories.
