Norman Wilkinson was born on May 29 1911 and lived in the Lancaster and Morecambe area his entire life.

Norman, who lived at Morecambe Bay Care Home, was featured in The Visitor just two months ago when he celebrated his 105th birthday.

He passed away peacefully surrounded by family members.

Norman was married to the late Mary at the Church of the Ascension in Torrisholme in 1946 and had two children, John and Barbara. He was also a loving grandfather to Michael and Jonathan and their families.

During his working life he was an accountant, a secretary and a company director and was also part of Lancaster Male Voice Choir. He celebrated his 100th birthday at a service at the Church of the Ascension where he read the lessons himself.

He still lived in his own home until recently and would get on the bus to do his shopping.

His friend John Atkinson said: “Norman was incredible, always very smartly dressed and everybody loved him.”

His funeral will take place at the Church of the Ascension on Tuesday at 10.30am followed by cremation at the Crematorium at 11am. Donations to St John’s Hospice c/o Bare and Torrisholme Funeral Service, Bare Lane, Morecambe.
