Income to Morecambe Town Council will reduce in the coming years.

The Government has announced parish councils will receive less money from Council Tax and this could reduce the town council’s annual payment from £220,7oo to £173,585.

The city council awarded the town a one-off grant of £50,000 this year to top this up and the town has also set aside £47,100 to offset the reduction in 2014/15.

The town council is expected to have £103,000 in its coffers to carry forward into 2014/15.

Morecambe Town Council will hold talks on its future budget plans at a meeting this Thursday (November 21) at 7pm at Morecambe Town Hall.
