“We had a wonderful weekend. Saturday had glorious sunshine and Sunday was extremely grey and wet, but there were plenty of smiles over both days.”

The event was supported by architect firm FWP,
who are helping with the design of the charity’s new building on Victoria Street, Investment Banking company Brown Shipley and Stagecoach.

The Midland Hotel and
local businesswoman Frances
Whittaker also donated a range of items for the walkers’ goody bags.

One of their younger walkers, Kian Fishwick aged eight, said: “My favourite part was the river crossing when the water went up to my hips.

“I’ve been asking all my friends and family to sponsor me and so far I’ve raised £60 for Galloway’s.”
