The Lancaster Guardian and its sister paper the Visitor have teamed up with Fitness Formation and Born Survivor to raise £100,000 toward the Save Our Hospice campaign for St John’s in Lancaster.

We are bidding to break the Guinness World Record for the biggest team ever to take part in an organised obstacle course event - by bringing together 1,000 people for Born Survivor at Lowther Castle, in the Lake District, on April 4 2015.

To take part here’s what you need to do.

Step one: register and commit yourself to one of the UK’s toughest 10km challenges.

Step two: set up a fundraising page and begin the first steps of reaching the £199 target for the hospice in order to regain your entry fee for Born Survivor.

Step three: make sure you register through the Fitness Formation Born Heroes team by following the hospice drop-down options on the links above.

We want each member of team Fitness Formation Born Heroes’ to try and raise a minimum £100 each - that £100 represents four hours of care by St John’s Hospice team, who work with people with life-limiting illness both at the Slyne Road Hospice and people’s homes.

This is the biggest event in the Save Our Hospice campaign so far - we launched last year to raise half a million pounds to ensure its survival for the future generations.
