Planning permission has been granted for two new housing developments in Lancaster.

At a planning and highways committee meeting, councillors approved plans for 71 new homes at Lancaster Leisure Park, in Wyresdale Road, subject to the signing of a legal agreement.

The application, from Miller Homes, includes two one-bed flats, ten two-bed flats, six two-bed houses, 19 three-bed houses, 27 four-bed houses and seven five bed-houses.

Permission was also granted for a new housing development on land between The Giant Axe football ground and Longmarsh Lane in Lancaster.

One Longmarsh Lane resident who attended the meeting said that councillors accepted the plans – submitted by Adactus Housing –without a traffic report.
