Work is due to start on a new reception area in the Centenary building at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary.

With an investment of approximately £300,000, the renovation work will also see brand new reception areas built for the main and outpatients receptions at Westmorland General Hospital (WGH), and a new reception area for the Maternity entrance at Furness General Hospital (FGH).

The ideas to renovate the reception areas came from an initiative called ‘Projects Kendal, Barrow and Lancaster’ – launched by the Trust in June 2012. This initiative enabled staff, governors, GPs, and members of the public to suggest how the Trust could make immediate improvements to their local hospital.
