Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust is pleased to announce the appointment of Derek Brown as the new Chair of the Trust.
The announcement came following a meeting of the Trust’s Council of Governors.
Derek joined the Trust as a Non-Executive Director in November 2007 following his retirement and has since worked with the Director of Finance setting up a joint venture company (Red Rose Corporate Services) to deliver the Trust’s new inpatient facilities.
Derek Brown, Chair at Lancashire Care speaks of his appointment:
“I am delighted to have been appointed as Chair and look forward to making a valuable contribution to the Trust and its future direction. I hope to build on the skills and knowledge I have gained during my time as Non-Executive Director and I am excited to be in a position to drive the Trust forward and improve services for the people of Lancashire.”
Prior to his time at a Lancashire Care, Derek served as a Royal Air Force Officer and Pilot for 14 years until joining BAE Systems. He spent 14 of his 28 years with the company overseas where he directed and managed large scale programmes for customers. On his return to the UK, he was appointed as Director of New Programmes which involved the delivery and management of high value projects.

Derek’s term of office will run until March 2016. In addition, Cannon Peter Ballard has been appointed as Deputy Chair and Senior Independent Director (SID). Peter’s term will run until May 2015.
