NHS Lancashire North Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is encouraging people to be aware of how they can look after themselves during the winter months.
Self Care Week, which runs from November 17 – 23, aims to raise awareness of ways that individuals can take control of their own health, manage minor ailments and effectively manage long-term conditions.
Keeping fit and healthy, having the confidence to treat coughs, colds and flu symptoms and knowing when to seek further help can all help to beat the winter blues. For the majority of people the best way to treat most colds, coughs or sore throats is to drink plenty of fluids and to rest.
Many pharmacists offer repeat prescription services without the need to see your GP. Visit the NHS Choices website for more.
