LAST week we had a look at how sugar could be at the root of fat around the tummy and may also be responsible for high blood pressure and high cholesterol.
As it is National Heart Health month, I thought I should follow that up with a look at some of the best heart health remedies available.
We see a lot of people who are looking for natural ways to reduce their blood pressure and cholesterol levels, usually because their doctor has advised them to try and bring their levels down if they want to avoid being put onto medication or if they have been unable to take or are unhappy with the side effects of medication.
High cholesterol is said to be a major cause of heart disease and, as a result, doctors are keen to get people’s cholesterol levels down.
The medication most commonly used to do this is a group of medicines known as statins which can help to bring cholesterol levels down. But for some people they are linked to problems such as low energy levels, falling asleep during the day and muscle and leg pain.
