The third Annual Members’ Meeting of University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust (UHMBT) will take place in Kendal on Thursday, September 19, with this year’s meeting having an added twist.

The Annual Members’ Meeting provides an opportunity for the Trust Board to

formally present its Annual Report and Accounts to the Council of Governors, and

explain the further progress the Trust has made over the last year and its plans for

the future.

The Deputy Lead Governor will also present the report of the Council of

Governors.

What makes this Annual Members’ Meeting different is that this year, the Trust will

be showcasing some of its services on special displays – allowing the public to get

a real insight into what the staff in our hospitals do, day to day to contribute to

excellent patient care.

The services that will be on hand to talk to the public on the day include: infection prevention, Morecambe Bay Hospitals Charity, outpatients and the core clinical departments, and a team of staff that will be demonstrating Lorenzo – the Trust’s electronic patient record system.

John Cowdall, Chair, UHMBT said: “This is my first Annual Members’ Meeting since I became Chair of the Trust and I am looking forward to updating our Members on the real progress we have made in the last twelve months, and also talking about what the future may hold for us.

“This is a time of big change for the NHS nationally, and it’s really important that we keep engaging with our staff, patients, and the public about what we are doing and how they can get involved, and this meeting gives us the chance to do that.

“I’m also pleased that we will have staff from some of our key services there on the day to show the public what tremendous work they do every day to offer the best possible care to our patients. “This is a great opportunity not only for the public to understand more about how each services operates, but also learn about the developments each service has made over the last year.

“These are your hospitals and you play a huge part in their future, so I hope to see as many of our Members at the meeting as possible.”

The meeting will take place in the Function House at the Castle Green Hotel in Kendal, from 12pm on Thursday, September 19.

Trust staff will be showcasing their services on stalls from 12pm - 2pm, when the meeting will start.
