An inspirational comic famed for her moving outlook on life will perform her unique laughter show at a Morecambe venue.

Francesca Martinez, known for her groundbreaking role in Grange Hill as a pupil with cerebral palsy, visits the Hothouse in the West End this April.

Her show is called ‘What the **** is normal?’ and explores what happens when you’re branded ‘abnormal’ in a world obsessed with normality.

Francesca herself has mild cerebral palsy but prefers to describe herself as a bit ‘wobbly’.

She toured the UK in 2012 and appeared on Russell Howard’s Good News as well as embarking on a hugely successful 50-date tour of Australia.

Ricky Gervais is a big supporter of her work and wrote a starring role especially for her in Extras where she appeared opposite award-winning actress Kate Winslet.

She is currently developing her own sitcom project, starting work on her first book, is a regular newspaper reviewer on BBC News 24 TV, BBC Radio 4 and 5Live and delivers motivational speeches across the globe.

Francesca also runs comedy workshops for mixed ability performers and writers in the UK and overseas.

The show is on Friday, April 19. Tickets available from 01524 831997.
