Four friends to visit 100 football grounds in 100 hours for charity

FOUR friends are aiming for a unique century in the name of charity.

Visitor reporter Adam Lord and fellow Lancaster Royal Grammar School old boys John Ferguson, David Murphy and James Dick are bidding to visit 100 sports grounds in 100 hours to raise money for St John’s Hospice.

It is a cause very close to Adam’s heart after his dad Simon, a founding partner at Wright & Lord Solicitors on Victoria Street, Morecambe, died at the end of September, aged 54, following a three-year battle with cancer.

He said: “In the final weeks and days of dad’s life the hospice at home team were absolutely fantastic and made dad comfortable and ensured he could stay at home with mum and I.

“I can’t thank them enough and I just want to raise as much money as I can, because if any of the services St John’s offers were to be lost, it would be a travesty.”
