Former depot to become supported housing

A former coach depot is tobe demolished to make way for supported living housing in the West End of Morecambe.

The former Grove Street depot, also once home to a repairs workshop for Frontierland, will make way for 21 self-contained one-bedroom apartments with on-site warden accommodation.The properties will be made available to vulnerable people with disabilities.

Coun Darren Cliffod spoke at Monday’s city council planning meeting, saying the plans were welcome and would replace “an eyesore” as well as providing up to 20 jobs.
