Footpath back in use... at last
Network Rail have been replacing the railings and the concrete parapet on Carlisle Bridge in Lancaster and cyclists on the cycle path and walkers had been suffering disruption as a result.
But the new footway is now open on both sides of the river and has been well received so far. The footway had been closed since September 2104 and was originally due to open at Christmas, but was put back until February 22.

John Walker said on Facebook: “Finally. It would have been quicker to build another bridge than the time its taken to renovate this one.”
